COMMERCIAL SERVICE

Office Wi-Fi access-point installation

Scope to review

  • customer-specified access point
  • installation in the agreed location
  • a basic check of the physical connection

Prepare information

  • AP model and power method
  • photos of the mounting location
  • existing cable or network-point details
Choose a city and describe the scope

Access-point placement affects the project

A Wi-Fi access point can be ceiling- or wall-mounted, but the fixing method depends on the device model, substrate and available cable. Include the AP model, device count, room plan and photos of the proposed positions. This assesses basic fitting without promising coverage that cannot be confirmed without analysing the site.

  • AP models and supplied brackets
  • the mounting location for each device
  • access to Cat6 or an existing route

Separate PoE, switching and cabling from Wi-Fi optimisation

Before installation, check whether the device is powered by PoE, an adapter or an existing switch, and whether the required cables reach the mounting position. Basic connection of supplied hardware is a different scope from wireless architecture, controller, VLAN or user-account configuration, or managed Wi-Fi.

  • power method stated for each AP
  • access to the appropriate switch or adapter
  • an IT contact to confirm the connection

Several APs in one office

For a small or medium office, one list of AP locations, rooms and devices helps assess work sequence and access to ceilings and cable routes. Fitting several APs is not automatically a coverage survey or a guarantee of signal quality everywhere. Those requirements should be described as a separate project element.

  • list of rooms and mounting positions
  • access to ceilings or walls
  • preferred work sequence in an operating office

Commercial FAQ

Does installation include Wi-Fi coverage design?

Not automatically. Coverage design and network configuration require separate agreement.

Can a Wi-Fi access point be ceiling-mounted?

That can be assessed from the model, bracket and ceiling construction. Access to the correct power or network cable is also needed.

Does installation guarantee Wi-Fi coverage throughout the office?

No. Coverage depends on layout, materials, devices and network design; it should not be guaranteed without a separate assessment.

Do you configure controllers and VLANs?

That is not an automatic part of installation. It needs separate description together with the business's existing system.
